Irene fights for her students

Thank you all for coming together to support CENIT, which offers affordable and accessible education programs, free nutritious meals and health services, and counseling and support services to working children in Ecuador. Your donations will fund a month of a CENIT teacher’s salary like Irene, who has been teaching at CENIT for four years.

Irene works in the ESTAR school: a special elementary and middle school that works with children that have fallen behind their peers academically for one reason or another, often due to an unstable home life. She teaches math to third graders in the mornings, and math and language to younger children in the afternoons.

Irene loves working with underserved populations of students through CENIT. She feels lucky to have a job at CENIT and is grateful to all of you that have contributed to another month of her salary. She fights hard for her students, making sure they continue their education and do the best they can in school.
