Erick Has Political Plans After High School

Erick

Dear Jonathan,

Erick is a 12-year-old seventh grader at the Luisa A. Martinez School in south Quito. He is the fifth of 10 siblings and they all live with their parents. His mother is a house maid and his father works in construction. Erick thinks he’d like to be a politician when he grows up.

In Ecuador, primary school lasts for 6 years (not including kindergarten), and then students move on to 6 years of high school. This is Erick’s last year in primary school and he is already thinking about high school. He dreams of attending either Mejia High School or Montufar High School, two of Quito’s best schools.

Erick will be able to enjoy a month of lunches at CENIT thanks to your generosity, Jonathan. Being well fed will help Erick power through the last semester of primary school.
