María is 13 years old, and is a bright student in CENIT’s school “ESTAR.”
This year she moved to Quito to live with her grandparents and her father, who works installing glass when there’s demand, which isn’t often enough. María Belen used to live with her mom on the coast (her parents are separated), but a complicated home situation meant she wasn’t doing very well in school. She is happy to be living with her grandparents, and feels very welcome in their home.
María Belén was recently diagnosed with anemia, making the healthy lunches that George donated even more important.
